InfoGuest
Welcome to our house! Below you will find some practical information that can make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Wi-Fi
Wi-fi name: Livebox-10A3
Password: 528F A501 24E7 7653 C960 C17F CC
The box is in one of the bedrooms but DO NOT move the router / decoder, it can then stop working!
TV
We do not have a subscription, but it can of course be used as a projector.
Drinking water
The water in the tap is fully drinkable (we drink it ourselves). The water in Callas, however, has some lime in it, which means that, for example, glasses, coffee makers, taps, showers, etc. become a little "dusty" from lime. This is completely harmless. We usually use the water in the tap to quench thirst, cook pasta, coffee, etc.
Drain
The drain (kitchen, bathroom, toilet) is an ecological filtration system that purifies the drain to clean water. However, it can not handle large amounts of fat, so it is VERY IMPORTANT that you dry out fatty frying pans and, for example, ABSOLUTELY do not pour cooking oil, butter or other food residues into the drain.
Appliances and Machinery
Oven
Start by turning the right knob to the desired function (top, bottom heat, hot air, etc.). Then adjust the desired temperature with the left control. The door cannot really be closed, but the oven still works excellently.
Micro
If you need to heat food, milk or other, then just press the button at the bottom right with a "symbol" + 1min. Micro then heats for 60 seconds, if longer time is desired, press again. Stop by using the button on the left, STOP. Display lacks a few diodes, but it still works great.
Coffee maker
The On and Off button has a "Play and Stop symbol", so you start and end brewing with this button. We do not use other buttons. Note that when you put in a filter (and coffee) and close the look, the "water arm" is automatically pushed out over the filter. Make sure that the filter does not prevent the "arm" from passing out in the middle of the filter. If not, it will be a little "coffee accident" that hit us a couple of times...
Refrigerator
Fridge and Freezer are integrated, and the freezer has an "ice cube function". You can take ice cubes from the outside or by removing the large ice cube cup from the inside. The beaker can be difficult to put back but do not use force. Adjust the small wings on the back of the cup and the cup will connect nicely.
BBQ
Coal is available for purchase in all major grocery stores, also "ignition cubes". You must clean the BBQ before departure.
The pool
The pool is cleaned once a week by Fredrik, our nice "pool man". Fredrik vacuums the pool and chlorinates etc. You can use the net yourself to catch leaves etc.
The shower by the pool is turned on by turning the lever on the silver-colored hose. The controls on the shower do not work. You do not need to adjust other controls.
Feel free to fill the pool with fresh water, every other day, open the small copper tap, use the hose and set the timer to 60 minutes. Close the copper tap afterwards.
Pool Alarm
The pool alarm is off but it can be turned on. The alarm sounds if waves are created that are captured by a sensor. In this way, the alarm helps you to get information about, for example, a child falling into the pool.
The alarm is turned on (turned off if all lights are off) by pressing 1-2-3-4 and then a short signal sound. Then press twice on button 1. The alarm will then be activated automatically when the water has "calmed down" sufficiently.
The alarm is switched off (completely) by pressing 3-4-3-4-3-4 and then a new signal is heard. After each number, a short sound must be heard indicating that it has registered the entry. (note it is only possible to switch off the alarm if lamp 2 flashes red)
Electric gate
The gate code is 4711. After entering the code, press the button at the top left, above "1". Then an orange light should start flashing. The gate closes automatically but please, check that the gate closes after you.
The manual gate, in the direction of Bargemon, can of course also be used.
Wild boar! We have to keep the gates closed otherwise we risk having wild boar in the garden when we wake up in the morning.
Door locking
To lock patio doors and kitchen door, the handle must be raised while the key is pulled around.
The garden
We leave the garden "at rest" during the summer as it requires a lot of water to be green. However, we try to water flower beds with lavender (at the stairs up to the house and at the stairs down to the pool). You are welcome to water the flowers with the help of a hose that is located at the basement entrance. Please remember to turn off the tap when you are ready as it will otherwise be dripping water.
The beautiful pink and white bush flowers (Oleander) that are found in several places in the garden are poisonous, so do not add them to your drink!
Flowers in pots
You are welcome to water flowers in pots so that they stay beautiful during your stay.
There is both a hose and a watering can down at the basement entrance.
Garden Lighting
All lights work but do not light in the same place.
- Lights by the pool are lit by the stairs down to the pool, on the left side.
- Lights on the terrace are lit in the living room to the right of the right exit to the terrace.
- Lamps on the back as well as the house's knots and the garden in general are lit in the kitchen, next to the front door. The right button, lights outside the kitchen door and the left lights the lights on the knot and the rest of the garden including the electric gate.
Lighting in the house
Some connectors are connected to switches. This turns on several smaller lamps (unless you move the cables to other sockets that are not connected to the switch). This is also good to remember if you are going to charge phones, the sockets do not work if the switch is not turned on.
Awnings and parasols
Awnings and parasols are very sensitive to wind. The so-called Mistral is known in Provence and it can quickly draw in strong winds. Please always pull in awnings in the evenings and when you leave the house.
Always take the parasol down when you have used it.
Mosquito nets
There are built-in mosquito nets in the three bedrooms. Let these be pulled down even when you have windows closed. The room with its own entrance lacks AC, but by having the window open at night, a comfortable temperature is usually created in a normal summer climate. There is also a floor fan that can be used if needed.
Air conditioning
There is AC in the two large bedrooms. You turn on the AC by pressing the large horizontal gray button (on / off). You can then regulate the cold through the vertical white button with the symbol for Celsius. The fan symbol helps you adjust the speed of the fan. You do not need to use other buttons. We usually have the fan at the lowest level (one "loaf"), AC then maintains a lower noise level than if you turn on more fan.
NOTE Please always turn off the AC when you leave the house and if you have doors or windows open.
Waste / Garbage
Household waste is left down the road. Go down through the manual gate and down the hill and a green dustbin is down on the road to the right.
Supermarkets
Down in the village there is a Proxi which is open in the mornings and a few hours in the afternoon. Larger stores are in and around Draguignan. The nearest shop is an Intermarché (20 min), google and you will find it quickly. There are also two big Carrefour, the biggest in Trans en Provence (25 min).
Bakery
"Patisserie Clothilde" is well known for its fine pastries and good bread and is usually open in the mornings and afternoons.
Market
Every Tuesday and Saturday there is a small but nice food market down in the square.
Restaurants
There are several in the village, some have irregular opening hour and they are popular so it may be necessary to book a table. You also have more restaurants in Bargemon (5 km) and in Clavier (4 km). Both villages are very nice and worth their visit.
